Topics: To generate a class handout addressing a Biblical topic, first, all the passages about that topic must be found. Sometimes, key words for that topic were investigated using a concordance. Other times, the New Testament or Old Testament (sometime both) was surveyed, making a note whenever the proposed topic was encountered. Then, the various passages were compiled according to what the various contexts revealed about the subject at hand.
Word Studies: Each class handout addressing a certain word used in the Bible was generated from a concordance. Every instance of that word in its language (Greek for the New Testament; Hebrew for the Old Testament) was investigated according to its context. If the Greek or Hebrew word had been translated into several different English words, all of the English words corresponding to that Greek or Hebrew word were included. After evaluating and sorting all the instances, a single definition was generated that fit all of the contexts. An example of the method is given in the file, How to Build a Word Study, in this section.
Outlines of New Testament Books: Each New Testament book has been outlined according to its subject matter. Many cross references have been included. Special care it taken to understand each idea in its context. The outlines of Acts and Revelation are in the Book section as commentaries.
Outlines of Old Testament Books: Most of the Old Testament books have been outlined in the same way as the New Testament books, primarily the prophets. A link to a free, pdf version of the Commentary on the Old Testament by Keil & Delitzsch has been given in the Books section of this website. This ten-volume commentary is well out of copyright, so may be freely downloaded.
The Character of Jesus: Using J.W. McGarvey’s Fourfold Gospel to merge the gospel accounts into one chronological narrative, each section has been developed as a study of the character trait of Jesus that is most represented in that scene. These 79 lessons focus on the character of Jesus rather than what He said or what He did. A link to McGarvey’s book, well out of copyright, may be found in the Books section of this website.
Power Point Lessons: Many lessons have been presented using Power Point: topics, word studies, and history. In this section, a pdf has been provided of the slides, six to a page. The Power Point files themselves may be obtained by emailing me at the address below.
Archeology, Geography, and Timeline: This section contains a timeline in pdf that can be printed as a 52-foot banner. A 40-page booklet goes with it. Also included are maps and pictures of archeological artifacts and points of interest to use with the timeline.
Books: Five of my books and two of my commentaries have been supplied. Although they are copyrighted, all may be freely downloaded. Further, links have been provided to a few excellent commentaries and reference materials that are out of copyright, and therefore may be freely downloaded.
Sermons: Audio, text, pdf, and PowerPoint versions of some of my sermons have been provided.
Daily Posts: Each post is positive, Biblical, and less than 100 words so that it may be seen in its entirety without an extra click on Facebook. They have been divided into sections according to subject.
